Mel is a trained singer, dancer and actor of approximately 25 years, crafting her broad performance skill-set from many theatre shows, concerts, competitions and promotional performances.

Some of her most recent musical theatre credits include: Servant in My Fair Lady for Bijou Creative, Ensemble in We Will Rock You for John X Presents and Soul Singer in Jesus Christ Superstar for TTUT/Craig Wellington.

Mel has completed her Diploma of Music at the UTAS Conservatorium of Music, majoring in Jazz and Popular Voice and training under the guidance of renowned vocalist and tutor, Maria Lurighi. Her previous vocal training has included some of Hobart’s leading vocal coaches, building her a broad repertoire and style capacity. She was a proud member of the Southern Gospel Choir and Disciples of Soul vocal ensemble, lead by Andrew Legg and Maria Lurighi.​

Having competed in various state-wide dance competitions to much success, Mel commenced dance training at the age of 5 at All That Jazz Dance School and then continued with Jenina's Dance Workshop - training in styles ranging from Commercial and Traditional Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Theatrical, Contemporary, Lyrical and Ballet. She has also been fortunate enough to complete workshops and masterclasses with some of Australia's renowned interstate choreographers/performers; including Stephen Tannos, Paul Malek, Lockhart Brownlie and Australia's Justice Crew and Timomatic, to name just a few. ​

Mel is a member of ANATS (Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing), has previously tutored voice for Revolve Arts and now provides her own singing tuition from her home studio in Mornington, TAS. She is passionate about healthy, sustainable vocal technique and fostering confidence and self-esteem in aspiring performers.
