"THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN SINGING, IS MORE SINGING."
— Ella Fitzgerald
From Mel..
I've had the privilege of working with many skilled vocalists and musicians over the years, experimenting with different singing methods and exercises.
This has culminated in my tutoring approach, which includes a focus on healthy, sustainable singing technique and musical and artistic development through challenges and creativity; all tailored to the individual, because no two singers are the same!
I'm now delighted to have the opportunity to share my experiences and skills with my very own singing students! I am passionate about allowing students to find their own unique voice and sing with freedom across all styles and genres.
Support and encouragement are so important in music and the performing arts. My goal is to create a safe, nurturing space where students can embrace music and ultimately have FUN!

Establishing awareness of your physical singing anatomy - the diaphragm, hard and soft palettes, the jaw, the pharynx etc.
Introduction to diaphragmatic breathing practices and coordination
Establishing vocal practice routines and development of a student specific warm up and exercise plan
Discover, strengthen and blend your low, middle and high vocal registers using specific exercises; building a balanced, versatile, connected voice
Pitch accuracy
Balance tone and sound colour
Apply new and existing skills to songs and build musical repertoire
Musicality, style and dialect development
Learn how to access high and belted notes with ease and safety
Performance technique and anxiety support
Acting through song and theatrical performance training
All students can expect an individual, tailored approach for their vocal lessons. As such, focus areas and exercises can vary and change accordingly, depending on what the student requires to achieve their best vocal potential, their current goals and areas of interest.
